Turkey has said it will help rebuild the port after a bomb blast destroyed a large part of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
Turkish Vice President Fouad Uktai made the proposal during a meeting with Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Saturday. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Mevlt Cavusoglu. News Anadolu and Daily Sabah.
After meeting with Aoun, the Turkish vice president said his country was ready to help rebuild the port of Beirut. Until the port of Beirut is rebuilt, the Turkish Mediterranean port of Mycenae is ready to help Lebanon with tariff concessions and the use of warehouses for large shipments.
"We have said that goods can be sent to Lebanon from Mycenae by small ships and other means of transportation," he said.
Fouad Uktai also said that the injured Lebanese could be taken to Turkey by Turkish air ambulance for treatment. Turkey has already sent a search and rescue team to Lebanon, as well as a medical team.
