United States loses politically at UN again'

Iran's President has said that the United States has once again been politically defeated in the UN Security Council. Hassan Rouhani.

Iran's state news agency says President Rouhani has made the remarks in the wake of a failed attempt by the United States to extend international sanctions against the country.

Rouhani told a weekly cabinet meeting in Iran on Wednesday that he had seen illegal, illegal and inhumane acts against Iran by the new US administration for the past three and a half years.

He said the US administration may have imagined that it had achieved some success by putting economic pressure on Iran, but that it had certainly failed miserably politically, legally and morally. Yesterday they suffered another defeat.
